Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how Niveau7, operated by Trueplace Technologies Inc., collects, uses, and safeguards the personal information you share with us. It also explains the choices you have and how to contact us with any questions.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, answer the setup questions, practice, or reach out to our team. This includes your name and email address, the test you are preparing for (TEF Canada or TCF Canada), your target level, your test date and why you are taking the test (for example Express Entry or citizenship), and your plan and payment status when you subscribe.

When you practice, we collect the content of your sessions: your spoken or typed answers, audio and video recordings, transcripts, and the estimated NCLC levels and feedback generated for you.

In particular, depending on how you use Niveau7, this includes:

  • Audio and video: your answers during practice tasks, and your camera if you turn it on.
  • Anything you say about yourself in your answers, such as your work, family or plans in Canada. Share only what you are comfortable with; practice answers can be invented.
  • Payment information: your plan, its status and the last digits of your card, from Stripe. We do not receive your full card details.
  • Device and usage data: your browser and device, the pages and features you use, and crash and performance reports.
  • Coarse location: your country or time zone, to show prices in your region's currency. We do not collect your precise location.

How we use information

  • Run your practice tasks with the AI examiner and give you your estimated NCLC, report and plan.
  • Process billing and answer your support requests.
  • Monitor performance, maintain security, and prevent misuse of the platform.
  • Research, develop, and improve our products, services, and technologies, including AI and machine learning models.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How we share information

We share information with the service providers that help us run Niveau7. They process it on our behalf and only for these purposes:

  • Vercel hosts our websites and app.
  • Convex stores your account, plan, practice sessions and reports.
  • Clerk handles sign-in and account security.
  • LiveKit carries the live call with the examiner.
  • Deepgram and Cartesia turn your speech into text; Cartesia gives the examiner a voice.
  • Google (Gemini) plays the examiner.
  • OpenRouter and Anthropic (Claude) grade your answers and write your report.
  • Mux stores and plays back your practice recordings.
  • Stripe processes payments. We never receive your full card number.
  • PostHog measures how the product is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information. We also share information when required by law or to protect our users and our rights, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

How long we keep information

We keep your account information and your practice sessions, including recordings, transcripts, levels and feedback, for as long as your account is open so you can review your progress. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete this data within 30 days, except for records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons, such as payment records.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or close your account and delete its data at any time by emailing us at hello@niveau7.com. You can block optional cookies in your browser settings.

If you have questions about this policy or need to exercise your privacy rights, email us at hello@niveau7.com. We respond to all requests and will work with you to resolve any concerns.
